About the Awards
Welcome to the home of the Seven Angels Theatre High School Halo Awards. This is our 20th Anniversary Season! We have spent the last two decades rewarding and elevating nearly 90 Connecticut High School theatre programs in all aspects: actors, singers, technical crew, directors, and more. This year, we are returning to the Palace Theater in Waterbury, CT on May 30, May 31, and June 1, 2023.
Important Dates:
- January 31, 2023 – Last day to submit Spring Registration
- May 14, 2023 – Cutoff date for all performances
- May 23, 2023 – Nominations are announced
- May 30, May 31, & June 1, 2023 – Seven Angels Theatre High School Halo Awards held at the Palace Theater
History of the Halo Awards:
Seven Angels Theatre High School Halo Awards initiative is the largest program of its kind in Connecticut.
In 1993, Artistic Director Semina DeLaurentis created the Seven Angels Theatre High School Halo Awards, a program that celebrated high school theatre in the Greater Waterbury Region. The program included 8 schools and the ceremony was held at Seven Angels Theatre. Over the years, the program grew too large to be held at Seven Angels and eventually transferred to the Palace Theatre in Downtown Waterbury. The program has grown from one night of awards to two nights of awards and is now the powerhouse that is it with three nights of awards and nearly 90 participating high schools from all eight Connecticut counties.

What is the Halos Robe?
The Halos Robe is a longstanding Halo Awards tradition that recognizes the ensemble!
How does it work for the Halo Awards?
Each school that presented a musical is asked to nominate an ensemble member from their production. That student then gets the honor of participating in the Halos Robe Ceremony and being recognized by all in attendance!

Production Detail Form
Why do I need to fill this out?
The Production Detail Form is our way to navigate the technical side of nominations.
How much detail do I need to provide?
We recommend at least a sentence or two describing what your students accomplished. The more detail, the better!
Is there a penalty for not filling out the Production Detail Form?
Yes! Since the form will be readily available online for all teachers, directors, producers (starting September 1, 2022), failure to fill out the form and return it a week before your opening night will result in zero technical nominations.
That seems like a steep penalty, don’t ya think?
We found that without the PDF being submitted prior to the first show, there were some inaccuracies when evaluating the production

School Productions
How many shows is my school allowed to enter?
A school can enter up to two shows! More specifically, a school can enter any combination of the following:
- One play and one musical
- Two plays
- Two musicals
- One double-cast production
Am I allowed to have adults in the production?
Depends. While adults may participate, please note that the use of adults could affect the categories your school could be nominated for.

How do I buy tickets?
New to this year, ticket order forms will be readily available online starting February 1, 2023! Stay tuned for additional information!
Am I able to buy tickets online?
At this time, we do not have an online ticketing system for the awards. However, stay tuned for the latest updates!
