WILD FYER presented by S.G.O.F. Leadership Academy

Wednesday, November 8 at 7pm

FREE and open to all. Presented by S.G.O.F. Leadership Academy in partnership with Seven Angels Theatre, ASAP!, and Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust.

Save Girls on F.Y.E.R. and 7 Angels TheatRE present an evening of theater and environmental education by S.G.O.F.’s Leadership Academy. S.G.O.F. girls will take the stage to share their findings on brownfields, air quality, and water quality in Connecticut and to celebrate their sisterhood through live theater performances, games, and improv. This presentation is the culmination of a two-pronged, 7-month project where S.G.O.F. Leadership Academy girls engaged in either a theater intensive or climate research track alongside their core studies and practices around leadership, character development, and social justice. The show will end with a Q&A, so come with questions!

FREE event. CLICK HERE to register.

S.G.O.F. is an independent nonprofit seeking to break the cycles of social immobility and absence of opportunity for girls of color. The S.G.O.F. Leadership Academy equips girls of color ages 11-17 with self-empowerment tools, advocacy skills, and leadership traits to be a girl on FYER. The Theater Track was created in partnership with ASAP!, an arts-infused education organization whose hands-on programming fosters awareness of how the arts, humanity and learning are interconnected. The Climate Research Track was created in partnership with Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust, whose mission is to provide opportunities to appreciate nature’s wonders and preserve land, inspiring lifelong learning about our natural world.
