Wounded Angels by Chuck Miceli
April 22 at 5:00 PM
Wounded Angels follows the relationship of an inconsolable widow, an uncontrollable social misfit and the miracle of their dysfunctional friendship. When Maureen Russo loses her husband of more than fifty years, she also loses her own reason for living. Friends, family and even ministers cannot lift her from her depression. Then help comes from the unlikeliest of sources: Doris Cantrell. Crass and abrasive, Doris is the product of an abused childhood, a failed marriage and an estranged relationship with her own daughter. Neither woman has the energy nor the interest to help the other, yet each manages to support, sustain and heal the other, not despite their disabilities, but because of them. Sometimes the only way to heal a broken heart is through a wounded soul.
Chuck Miceli’s new play draws from the real-life experiences of people who have suffered the loss of a loved one and, in the process, have lost themselves. Filled with hope and humor, this touching, sometimes hilarious play, captures the inevitability of death and the critical importance of life and love after loss.
There will be a Q & A after the play with a reception in the lobby.
Tickets only $10.
